I'm not sure how many people visit this page. These are the people who know about it, in descending order of how often they check it (I think): me, you, Melissa, Stephen, Ben, Jeremy, Sebastian, Nerissa, Clinton. There may be more, who knows. So remember that you are writing to them too. :) If there's anything you want to say to me privately, I correspond almost compulsively via email, because (and this is a fairly recent realization) I am a loser. Not in a bad way. Well, maybe. :P

hey Jean, guess what?! I was fooling around with Maxwell today (and he was plugged in), and I came up with an intro to a song in key of D, and then I strummed a little, and now I have a real rocking song started! I just have to play with it a bit more, and then I might actually have a cool song put together. When its a little more complete, I'll play it for you, and we can work on it together! =)

ps: Who exactly is everybody else that is on this site?

Hey Emily. In case anyone was wondering, Emily and I are writing a song together. She wrote the melody, I wrote the words. It's not finished yet. But we *will* complete a song together! One day! :)

I really like the song Jean! I can't wait to add more to it...you should write some piano to it, and what if we experiment? say, make it faster, or add more complex harmonies? hmmm....the possibilities are endless!!! Oh, and it definately needs a Queen-type guitar solo (i will do what I can...)

I have decided that I will try to check this board everyday, and post as well, so that I can keep up with you guys (namely Jean) incase its a while before I see you again. I am up to my eyeballs in mathematical physics...4 hours of it is really bad on my attention span. I have a midterm next Friday. I am really looking forward to the Elliot Smith show, and I have no idea when I will have the chance to go looking for an apartment. Ok, thats about it for now =) See ya!

So long, farewell, auf vitersain, good bye! to Monrovia Coffee Company...maybe their proffits on Monday nights will increase now that there is no more MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!!!!! what a bunch of idiots....

anywho, we must have confidence that we will find some place new! How else do you solve a problem like open mic?

Ok.....its late, and I am obviously tired. =)

So, last night was the last open mic night at Monrovia Coffee Co. The management announced that they had decided to suspend it because profits were slipping on Monday nights. We, the performers, were left pretty clueless about the matter... in fact, we were kind of in the middle of a small advertising campaign when it happened. So... doh.

Yesterday my friends went home early and I drowned my sorrows in the soundtrack of The Sound of Music, and, this morning, Ben Folds Five's first album, 'cause it always makes me feel better.

Anyway, we may move on to a new venue where the management is more cooperative and appreciative... but until then...

"I know I will hear what I've heard before
My heart will be blessed with the sound of music
And I'll sing once more."

This page is now more streamlined and aerodynamic! I fixed it so that it only contains the ten latest posts. You can access previous posts via the archives. Also, Sebastian joined the blog. Whee!

I just got back from seeing "Chicago." Holy shit! This movie is great. It has everything--jazz, sex, glamour, corsets... and as an added bonus, confetti and Catherine Zeta-Jones in a sexy bob. I think I'll join a cabaret now. :)
