The Spa and Other Events...

I went to spa yesterday for Jill's bridal shower! Treatments received: French manicure, eyebrow wax, facial. What do you think of my new look?

There's been so much wedding talk lately! Everyone's asking when my wedding will be. I don't know!! So far, our wedding planning has consisted of just talking... oh ,and I've already got a sexy white dress picked out -- it was like $30. :P But first things first: choose a date!!

In other events:

March 11: The Wet Spots @ El Cid
April 29-30: Rufus, Andrew Bird, The Decemberists and more @ Coachella!
May 4-7: Visit Emily and Ben Folds!
Weekend of June 23: Luis's graduation cruise!
July 7: The Decemberists w/ L.A. Phil @ Hollywood Bowl!
September 23: Rufus performs Judy Garland @ Hollywood Bowl!

Look at all those exclamation points! I must be soooo excited!

Bitches ain't shit...

I'm not a fan of misogynistic gansta rap, but Ben Folds does a great cover of Dr. Dre's "Bitches Ain't Shit." (If you've saw him live with Rufus in '05, you know what I'm talking about!) Now, Ben has called out for his fans to make a video for the song. I've seen a lot of them, and I think this is the best interpretation so far. It's an a capella version by a choral group at UC Berkeley. Enjoy!

Back from vacation...

Hey kiddies! I'm back from skiing at Lake Tahoe!

I kicked off my vacation with a visit to airline hell. It's complicated and I don't want to explain it all, but let's just say that my flight out of Hawaii was delayed due to a flat tire. I stayed an extra night at Kona Seaside Hotel, then was finally on my way to L.A. 14 hours later than scheduled. I arranged to be put on a later flight from L.A. to Tahoe, but when it was time to check in, I found that I was not put on that flight after all! YAAAAAAAAYYYY! Luckily, I was able to get a standby seat on the flight I wanted, and arrived in Tahoe at 2:30am. In conclusion, I hate American Airlines and look forward to never flying with them again. :)

Well, the hard part was over... now it was time to ski! We (meaning myself, John, and my future "stepchildren") really lucked out -- it hadn't snowed for a month... but as soon as we got there, the snow started pouring down! Yay for fresh powder! I skied in the trees, I fell down in the snow, my legs are swollen, my skin is red and dry. I wanna go back! :) But I'm not going back to Heavenly... it's too icy and slushy there, the trail maps and signs are hard to decipher, and there are too many flat areas. Maybe it's time for Colorado?

I was back in L.A. on Valentine's Day. I'm not the bitter and lonely type, but I do believe Valentine's Day is a dumb holiday.
