Vegas, baby!

I have spent the last several weeks raving on and on about how great the buffet at New York-New York is supposed to be. Happily we zoomed up the 15, envisioning all-you-can-eat-steak, crab legs, burritos, mashed potatoes, the works. However, when we finally got to the hotel, I was met with disappointment, as the buffet at New York-New York... does not exist. In fact, it never existed.

Suddenly, I remembered that I visited Vegas last year with the same vision of the uber-buffet, only to be informed that there is no such buffet. Apparently the power of my dreams is stronger than the power of my memory. Sigh.

It is the Buffet of Dreams. One day, I'm going to open a buffet at New York-New York, and it's going to be the greatest buffet in the whole goddamn world.

To me, almost anything can be a phallic symbol. I see cars, trees, 21" computer monitors, and they all make me think of a penis. Sigh. Actually, the finger-cast didn't look that phallic when I first saw it... but as time passes, it just keeps getting longer and curvier in my memory. Haha.

I invented a new word. It is a word that describes me. The word is "phallophile." :)

Of the countless daydreams and fantasies I go through over the course of a day, one of my favorites has got to be the masochistic, do-something-stupid-in-front-of-hot-men daydream. For some reason, it's funny to watch yourself from the third person, tripping and falling over a chair while making conversation with Johnny Depp over coffee. It's even funnier when it happens to you in real life.

Flash back to three years ago, in which I tumble to the ground while rollerblading, during an (obviously failed) attempt at flirtation with the cute greaser brothers down the street.

Flash back to two hours ago, in which my finger gets caught on the laboratory doorknob. My body continues moving through the door, causing me to bend my finger backwards against the doorknob until my brain registers the "PAIN" sensation and I yelp. All this while my friggin' CK model coworker is less than ten feet away at the optics table. This time I didn't know how to react so I actually said, "Oh my God, this is so embarassing." Oh my god. Does the "adorable klutz" card work for women too? What about the "skittish love fool?"

I think he'll forgive me, though; after all, he *was* the one with the oh-so-phallic cast on his thumb from some splinter-related freak accident.

Haha... Snowcap is so funny. I was peeking into the cage last night, and she started trying to *jump* out of the cage. She'd stand on top of her little house, crouch, and *jump* with all her might... but she couldn't clear the top wall of the cage, meaning she'd slam against the side, slide down to the floor, run back up the house and start over again. It was silly. Hamsters are weird.

The other day Toffee used my head as a stepping stool to reach the blanket and climb onto the bed. She's getting really smart. It's scary.
