Oh my god, people. Last night I actually ate hot food in my own home. Yes, this is a blog-worthy event. Congratulate me, dammit!

I've been told that I need to post more, to satisfy your needs as voyeurs. I can sympathize. So, here's your update, you little perverts.

I just returned from a 1.5-week stay in Hawaii. My sister was there too. It was a wonderful opportunity to hang out, eat expensive food, drink a lot, and talk about stuff. It was great fun... until I started working nights, then she would spend the days chilling with sea turtles while I (and the rest of the team) endured emotional flogging by the project manager. It was just announced that we will be receiving a one million dollar budget cut. Ouch...

In happier news, I've been filling up all my Friday nights with social things. It's great. But maybe I should stop going to clubs alone, 'cause the inevitable result is that I get groped in one way or another. Eh. That's probably not enough to stop me from going. I want to see how tall my pile of napkins with email addresses written on them gets.

Some members of my immediate family are really really sick. I don't want to talk about it here, because it's too sad. But I thought you all should know that it's not all flirting and giggles in the life of Jean right now. Moral support is always appreciated!

Today I was standing in line at the cafeteria, when suddenly the world started to fade away and I felt like I soon I wouldn't be able to stand up anymore. The emergency medical team came and whisked me away to health services, where they discovered that my blood sugar was friggin' low ("Normally when people's blood sugar is this low, they've passed out already," I was told), so I was fed 15 g of glucose (some sweet jelly stuff in a tube) and then I received a lecture on the importance of eating. Blah...

Hah! I went swing dancing last night! That means, during my three weeks as a free woman, I have accomplished the first two items on my list. Also, I'm looking into joining a volunteer group that performs music for the elderly, which I think would qualify under the "audition for stuff" category. Yessss!

Welp, now that the tenant-manager-relationship-from-hell nightmare saga is over, I am pleased to announce that I have signed a lease at my new apartment. Originally the lease was 1 year long, but the manager and I bitched for a long time and got the lease reduced to 6 months. (Woohoo! Apparently I have commitment issues now!) So, that's my living situation now. I intend to get the hell out of there as soon as the lease is up, but who knows, I may end up liking it there...

I've been getting to work on time lately. One of the side effects of sleeping alone...
