Omg, I just had the most mind-blowing cheesecake of my life. (Haha, I can't believe I'm posting this. Is it wrong to consider dessert-eating a blogworthy event?) One thing I can't complain about in Hawaii, is that they really know how to serve up a fine dessert. It was a guava-lime cheesecake, in a pool of vanilla sauce, with fresh Waimea strawberries on the side. Hmmm, could there be competition for the famed "macademia-nut chocolate chip cookie, served hot with a side of Tahitian vanilla ice cream"? (Actually, I doubt it. That cookie is damn delicious. :P)

Anyway, some of you have asked me to post my travel schedule here. I will do that, starting now.

Right now - July 2: Hawaii, working days.
July 3 - July 10: California
July 11 - July 19: Hawaii, working days.
July 20 - July 24: Hawaii, working nights. (If you try to call me during this time, I swear to God, I will fucking wail on your ass. :P)
July 25 - whenever: Who knows what the future holds!

This morning, I got out of bed after 3 hours of sleep, still stumbling and feeling slightly drunk. Today I'm scrapping two of the things I was supposed to do, so that I can rest, try to recover from this cold so I'll be able to sing tomorrow, and catch up on my psych reading which I've now fallen behind on. I sound like I'm complaining, but I'm not. IT WAS WORTH IT.

You know you've had a good weekend when you've got stamps on both your hands. :) One stamp was from the Ice House, the comedy club in Pasadena where I had a few good laughs with my French buddies, got a little drunk, saw Mario Lopez (Slater from Saved By the Bell), ate bread and cheese, and talked until 4 in the morning. That was a good night. :)

The second stamp is from Erotica L.A., where I ran into my dear friend Shirley... she was working a booth selling her boyfriend's photography. I introduced her to my wonderful new friend Richard, the three of us chatted it up, and I realized that I miss her very much. :) Anyway, I ended up spending a bunch of money on some great novelty items, souvenirs, and bargain-priced sex-cessories!! Let me tell you, the sheer innovation of those wares... some of the sex machines were marvels of engineering! And oh, the THINGS I put my fingers in today...! Other inventions were just really creative! I mean, a spanking device that you can control via the Internet? BRILLIANT!!

Yep. :)

I've had a good movie-watching week, yay! I consumed the following films:

-House of Flying Daggers, which had some very beautiful visual elements (as expected) and was also less pretentious than Hero, although there were some eye-rolling moments, I must admit.

-Dr. Strangelove, so dark and funny. I have to see this one again. There are so many subtleties about this film that I missed the first time.

-Adrian Lyne's Lolita, which I enjoyed very much and also found really tense and erotic. Man, Jeremy Irons is hot.

-Wet Hot American Summer. (A comedy, not a porno.)

-Anal Asians. (Okay, this one's a porno.)

Wet Hot American Summer was really, really funny. So was Anal Asians, though I found that one disappointing ultimately. I know good porn must exist, somewhere out there...

Anyway, if you have seen any of the above and have interesting insights you'd like to share, please do!

cheers,
jean
