I've seen a lot of iPod accessories out there, but...

If you're a regular peruser of SkyMall like I am, you are familiar with its upper-middle-class-targeted, make-your-life-slightly-more-convenient-
in-some-expensive-but-insignificant-way brand of wares. One of the most common types of items I've been seeing lately is the iPod Accessory. You know, alarm clocks with an iPod dock, leather massage chairs that play your iPod in its built-in speakers, futuristic-looking speaker thingies which can only play music from an iPod but no other input source (lame).

But of all the iPod accessories I've seen, this one is the winner.

(Warning: too sexy to look at from work.)

As promised: pictures!!

Here are some snapshots of my recent travel adventures! To protect the innocent, only obscured and/or fuzzy faces are shown. :P

The waterslide at the Mariott hotel, Orlando. Waterslides are fun!!

A fake palm tree by the swimming pool at the Mariott. This tree lights up at night!

The beach at low tide, St. Simons island, Georgia.

Outside the Maritime museum, St. Simons island, Georgia. In the nearby town of Darien exists the port from which delicious, juicy shrimp was harvested and consumed by me.

The floor at the new Wynn hotel, Las Vegas. I like this new hotel. It's got a sort of retro-Euro theme going on, but not too overdone and in-your-face like a lot of the other themed hotels. Very classy.

Meli overlooking Punalu'u, Hawai'i. We did a road trip all around the island! Even though this vacation claimed the lives of two digital cameras, we all had fun.

Jeremy takes a break from disciplining his grass-loving horse, Flash.

The danger sign at Pololu beach. Note: black sand!

YESSSSSS!!!

Remember that art song contest I entered? I'm a semi-finalist!!!!! That means my entry will be broadcast on Hawaii Public Radio in July!!!! (I'll be in Hawaii to listen to it... I'll even tape it!) Next, the semi-finalists will be judged to see who gets the recital on Oahu...

Damn. I rock! You can listen to my entry at my (currently boring) MySpace website: Imelda Jean

Whoa.

Rufus was on Weekend Edition today to talk about his upcoming Judy Garland tribute concert at Carnegie Hall (which, by the way, I am soooo sad that I won't be going to)... and he let it slip that he's just been commissioned to compose an opera for the Metropolitan Opera!! OMG. Wow! Does anybody out there understand how totally exciting and wonderful that is?? Opera... Rufus... New York City... ahhhhh... *faints* ... *gets up* Oohhh, I have to go to the premiere. Anyone coming with?

Oh, the anticipation is mounting...

As you know, my travel schedule has been even more hectic than usual... I'm in Hawaii right now, gearing up for the next observing run. I'm just recovering from a travel-induced cough/cold which happily didn't prevent me from singing at the Arroyo Singers concert... I saw St. Simons island in Georgia, the land of deerflies and southern accents (mmm, best shrimp ever, fresh off the docks!)... I watched Shirley get married and cried at her wedding... and I spent a week surrounded by 2,000 astronomers and learned about the world scene of stellar interferometry! Did you know that there's a plan in the works for an Antarctic interferometer? And you thought Hawaii was isolated...

Anyway, this long stretch of travel has been fully documented by my digital camera... pictures are coming, I promise! :P
